The Computing Studies Department
Aims of the Computing Department
The computing department aims to provide all pupils with the opportunity to develop and extend their understanding of how computers work, the role computers play in modern life and experience a wide range of computer software in a problem solving environment.
The department offer the following courses:
S1/S2 ICT
ICT is delivered by staff in both the Computing and Business Studies departments. Pupils follow a common course which is constantly developing in line with the Curriculum for Excellence outcomes.
S1 ICT
Pupils undertake units of work in Presentation Software, Word Processing, Graphics, Scratch Programming, Internet (Safety and Use) and project work.
S2 ICT
Pupils undertake units of work in Spreadsheets, Databases, Desk Top Publishing, Web Page Design and Integrated Projects.
S3 and S4
Intermediate 1 Computing Studies
